Mr. TuxMy friend Mike got married this weekend at Fox Hollow in Long Island, NY.
To the left is me looking snazzy while drinking champagne during the cocktail hour.

While Mike was getting dressed we put a phone book, stuffed monkey, mini baseball bat and DVD player in his suitcase. He figured we were up to something and removed all the items before zippering it up. I don’t believe he found the yellow pages, so if he needs to order pizza while on his cruise he’s good to go.

We arrived at the hall about 90 minutes before everyone else (presumably to take photos, although we wound up not doing anything until the ladies arrived). It was a beautiful day, so the ceremony was to be held in a garden outside. During that time I polished off a bottle of white wine (because I’m sophisticated!) while eating various hors ‘doeuvres.

The PA system was also set up for the ceremony, so we took turns making various “announcements” that were audible to anyone arriving or leaving the hall. Here is a sampling:

  • Now batting, number 23, Don (Don) Mattingly (Mattingly).
  • We are now boarding rows 13-8 and passengers with small children.
  • Various jokes and other hilarity.

Congratulations Mike and Janet, I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon.
